The Biofile Ltd was founded in 1996 by the name of Biofons. The first Biofons ELISA kit was introduced to the markets in 1998.

A major strategic change took place in 2004 when a newly established company Biofile bought the ELISA and IFA business and manufacturing rights from Biofons Ltd. All key people from Biofons customer service and manufacturing related to ELISA business area were transferred from Biofons to Biofile Ltd. Biofile now owns all rights to Biofons brand as well as to Biofons ELISA and IFA products.

In the past three years Biofile has increased importing of the diagnostic products to the Finnish market and the Baltic region.

In 2007 the company added two new products to its manufacturing line: Glucose and Lactose tolerance tests. These ready-for-use solutions are rapidly gaining markets in the Baltic region and the Middle East.
